![]() ![]() I get that there’s a narrative being told about how krennic is a tragic villain because everyone is expendable to the empire, but it just seemed odd to me in the sense that the movie was basically telling you that “here’s the big bad guy for this film, right up until he’s not” and a legacy character shows up. In my mind it kind of wastes the narrative of the other villains that the movie spent so much time establishing. Vaders appearance in this movie (despite being cool looking on screen) was sort of ridiculous in the sense that the movie had spent probably 90% of the film setting up krennic and tarkin as the big bad villains, only for Vader to slide on in at the last minute and take over. Every single thing in it seems done just to remind you (in case you somehow forgot) that the original trilogy happened. Im definitely in the minority when I say that I didn’t like this movie. The biggest example of this for me and I know it’s unpopular sentiment was with rogue one. But just having that character present “because” as they seem to do elsewhere is pretty lazy. I have no issue when the writers include people when there is a good reason for it. ![]()
